Orders & Returns

How long does it take to receive my jewelry?

For ready to ship pieces, please allow 1-2 business days for processing, plus shipping time. For made-to-order pieces, please allow 10-15 business days for processing, plus shipping time. Please read specific product descriptions and details before ordering. Orders placed on weekends and major holidays will be processed the next business day. We do not deliver on weekends or holidays. During peak and holiday seasons, there may be processing and shipping delays. Read more on our Shipping Details page.

Can I cancel or edit my order after it’s been placed?

Please email us at info@shelleymoondesigns.com with your order number within 24 hours, and we will try our best to accommodate your request.

Can I edit my address after the order’s been placed?

If your order hasn't been shipped yet, we can accommodate changes to the shipping address. Please email us at info@shelleymoondesigns.com with the updated address as soon as possible. Please note that we are unable to modify the billing address once an order has been placed.

How can I track my order?

Click "Track My Order" in your shipping confirmation email, or log into your account on shelleymoondesigns.com. Please note that it can take 1-2 business days for a tracking number to show movement.

How do I know if an item is out of stock?

While we strive to maintain availability of our online inventory, our unique approach of avoiding mass production and bulk manufacturing means that ready-to-ship pieces may occasionally go out of stock swiftly. Rest assured, if any item in your order is out of stock, a member of our team will promptly contact you via email.

What’s your return policy?

For domestic orders, you have the option to return most unworn or unused items within 10 business days of the delivery date. Once the item is received at our studio, we'll assess its eligibility for a full refund. Please note, depending on the condition of the returned item, a 20% restocking fee may be applied (e.g., if it's damaged or clearly worn). We'll provide you with a prepaid return label; however, for returns, a $10 deduction will be made from the total refund amount. If you choose to exchange or shop for a new item, SMD covers the return label cost. Custom orders are considered FINAL SALE and cannot be returned or exchanged. Certain pieces are only eligible for exchange or store credit—please review product descriptions and details before placing an order. We do not accept partial returns for individual products (e.g., returning only a chain or pendant from a necklace purchase). Please be aware that shipping costs are non-refundable once the product has been shipped. To initiate a return or exchange, please begin the process below. Please allow 5-7 business days for us to process your return or exchange after it's received at our studio.

Can I exchange my piece for a different size?

Yes, you can directly exchange via our returns page via the button below. If you'd like to exchange for a half size, we can resize your piece when you purchase one of our services HERE. Once purchased, please email us at info@shelleymoondesigns.com to receive a prepaid shipping label.

We do not accept returns, exchanges, or resizing requests for custom orders.

Facebook and Instagram Shop orders are not eligible for exchanges.

When will I receive my refund?

Returns are typically processed within 5-7 business days of their arrival at our studio. Once our team has processed your return, you will receive a refund confirmation email. Refunds are generally posted to bank accounts within 2-3 business days. 

Depending on the condition of the returned item, there may be a 20% restocking fee (i.e. if it's been damaged or clearly worn). Please note that we are unable to refund shipping costs.

How much does shipping cost? Do you ship internationally?

We provide continental US Shipping , no international shipping at this time

STANDARD 3-5 business days (orders $200+): Free Shipping

STANDARD 3-5 business days (orders less than $200): $10 Shipping

EXPEDITED 2 business days: $25 Shipping

OVERNIGHT 1 business day: $50 Shipping

For orders to Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico, shipping is $30.

For international orders, shipping is calculated at checkout

What shipping carriers do you use?

Orders placed with standard shipping and valued less than $500 are shipped via USPS. 

Orders placed with standard shipping and valued $500+ are shipped via UPS.

Orders placed with expedited shipping are shipped via UPS.

For orders $1,000+, adult signature may be required.

Please note that we are NOT able to ship to PO boxes, hotels, or military bases.

I think my package is lost. What can I do?

If you think your package is lost, email us at info@shelleymoondesigns.com right away with your order number and we'll try our best to help resolve the issue. Please note that SMD is not responsible for lost or stolen orders once they are marked “Delivered” by the carrier.

Be sure to check with your neighbors or building front desk to see if they may have your package.

What are all of your pieces made of and where do you source materials?

What are your pieces made of?

Our fine jewelry collection is made of 14kg yellow gold and white gold. Our sustainable collection is made with 100% sterling silver as the base metal and adding 2.5 - 3 microns of yellow gold. Our gold filled collection is made with 14kg or 18kg yellow gold, depending on the collection and style.

Where do you source your diamonds and gold?

We exclusively partner with vendors & artisans who uphold rigorous ethical standards and possess comprehensive understanding of the supply chain. Our gold, regulated and certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), is meticulously sourced from Fairmined Certified Mining Organizations, subjected to stringent 3rd party audits to ensure continuous adherence to standards. Our conflict-free stones undergo the Kimberly Process (KP) for added assurance. The majority of our stones are expertly cut and polished in downtown Los Angeles and Austin.

I don’t know my ring size. Do you have a ring size?

How do I care or SMD pieces and do you have a warranty?

Care Instructions

To prolong the lifespan of your jewelry, we advise removing them before exposure to harsh chemicals, lotions, beauty products, and perfumes. Avoid wearing them during strenuous activities or when lifting heavy objects. Additionally, it's best to take them off in extreme heat and humidity, and before swimming in chlorinated water. For cleaning your SMD pieces, use a soft-bristled toothbrush with a small amount of diluted dish soap. Gently scrub under warm water and allow them to air dry in a secure location.

Warranty Information

For sustainable and gold-filled pieces - you have 1 year warranty.
For any fine jewelry, our warranty covers one complimentary repair within six months of order delivery, given that the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect. Our warranty does not cover lost pieces, improper storage of a piece, or any modification made to a piece by a third party.

Please note that repairs can take up to 6-8 weeks.  With the purchase of our SMD Concierge Service HERE, our warranty extends to three years from the delivery date of the original order.  Please note that most SMD pieces are handmade and may have attributes that vary slightly from what is portrayed on our website. These are not defects and will not be repaired.

Do you provide repairs? If so, what is the cost?

SMD provides complimentary repairs for pieces that fall under our warranty. Please note that repairs can take up to 6-8 weeks. For pieces outside of our warranty, please purchase our repair service HERE, and please fill out the Repair Service form HERE for any repair requests.

Damage due to neglect, abuse, or natural wear and tear will be repaired for a flat rate of $100, unless SMD deems otherwise. SMD reserves the right to charge fees or repairs using our professional discretion. Due to the nature of herringbone chains, hollow hoops, and hollow link chains, these pieces may not be able to be repaired.

Please note that most SMD pieces are handmade and may have attributes that vary slightly from what is portrayed on our website. These are not defects and will not be repaired. All of our stones are natural, not dyed or heat treated. No stone is exactly alike, and slight color variations and inclusions are normal. All repairs originating from Hawaii or Alaska will require an additional $20 fee to cover shipping surcharges. We do not currently offer repairs for international orders.
